Getting back to basics

Friday, May 07, 2010

Once again we offered a Beginners workshop for teachers who were feeling like they wanted to throw the mimio out the door. It wasn't because it wasn't good technology or they couldn't see the potential, but it was the frustration of trying to learn how to use the mimio, while trying to fit everything else into the programme. Some teachers had started with a hiss and a roar but school life got on top of them and they wanted to be re-enthused.

The small, hands on holiday course offered them a supportive environment without having to worry about their students or getting back into class. Here are a couple of feedback comments we received:

"What an eye opener!! I have had a great learning experience. Can't wait ot go home and play. Having the hands on with our own computers was great."

"All of it - found it very clear to understand / follow. Found the 1 -1 small group set up really supportive and no-threatening."

So if you feel ready to throw out your mimio. Don't! Stop! Get some training either during the school term or in during our July holiday workshops.
